I did what I needed to do. Maybe someone else will need it.
modules/news/include
edit files storyform.inc.php and storyform.original.php

$sform = new XoopsThemeForm(_NW_SUBMITNEWS, "storyform", XOOPS_URL.'/modules/'.$xoopsModule->getVar('dirname').'/submit.php');
$sform->setExtra('enctype="multipart/form-data"');
$sform->addElement(new XoopsFormText(_NW_TITLE, 'title', 50, 255, $title), true);

replace 255 with 80

This is done for a news aggregator, as conditions have changed there.

How can I limit the "title" field in admin-form of "news 1.66" module to 80 characters?
In which file can this be done?

I've been trying to figure it out: modules\news\admin\index.php
case 'newarticle':
xoops_cp_header();
news_adminmenu(1);
include_once XOOPS_ROOT_PATH . '/class/module.textsanitizer.php';
newSubmissions();
autoStories();
lastStories();
expStories();
echo '<h4>' . _AM_POSTNEWARTICLE . '</h4>';
$type = 'admin';
$title = ''; - Is there any way to change this to limit the length of the field?
$topicdisplay = 0;

But that's probably not how it's done.

It is the error that I get and I can not enter the xoops administration. Mark a file in php and the wrong line of code.

There is no such public_html/cms directory in xoops

if you want to test quiz with XOOPS 2.5.11 RC2 then you can contact Mamba.
He has already updated a lot of modules to smarty 3, maybe he has also updated quiz module. if not I can do it.

Mamba wrote that he would update the modules as soon as he made a stable release of xoops. It will be very good.

I couldn't even figure out what functions this module has. Since the admin panel did not work. But judging by the tables used, there is not much functionality there.

The problem continues, I even try to load them with the image manager in a News folder and it also gives me an error. It shows me the photo when selecting in small size when I load it, I get the same error. I have already changed the size of the file and images. I can't find a solution.

Which module are you using?

I had similar problems for the reasons I mentioned earlier.

Make sure that the web server is writable in the directory.

Error: Class 'Xquiz/Helper' not found in the file /modules/quiz/admin/menu.php line 36

I tried to change it as in the "publisher-1.07" module, but it doesn't work.

hi

did you check out these modules:

hi

Polls are not that. It is necessary that there are several answers depending on the points scored.

I can't install "quiz". Or rather, I can't log in to the admin panel of the site. An error comes out:
A problem has occurred on our server!
Page is currently unavailable
We are working on a fix
Please come back soon ...
Error : Error: Class 'XoopsModules\Xquiz\Helper' not found

xoops 2.5.10 PHP 7.3, 7.2
I just delete the module and then the admin is available again.

'version' => 2.00,
'module_status' => 'Alpha 1',
'min_php' => '7.2',
'min_xoops' => '2.5.10',

You need to check everything again.
Whether a category has been created in the image manager.
Access rights to this category.
Image sizes for the category.
And the rights to the "uploads" folder, and inside the folder.

Which module is "news"?
