Ok can someone explain - I know that you know that the XOOPS numbering is probably the most chaotic system ever and that people are working hard to reduce all the 2.0.13.2 alpha beta RC2.1 cube nonsense into a logical pattern HOWEVER!

Having seen the new release of Article 0.8 (1.0 alpha 4) (simple eh?) I'm curious as to what exactly XOOPS 2.30 is?

I've installed 2.2.3 Final and then upgraded to 2.2.4 (which was curious as I thought the previous version said it was final!) however I've now learnt that the correct thing would have been to install the 2.0.13.2 Full which is the proper latest version because now I'll have to wait until XOOPS 2.4 because 2.0 people can upgrade to 2.3 but not 2.2.4 people because those numbers aren't being continued and the next time they'll be catered for is 2.4.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! ;)

1) If I want to make a production site then what do I install?

2) What is XOOPS 2.30 - has it been released yet as there appears to be module downloads for it?!

Hi Solo,

I was using 1.7 - I might just see if I can reinstall it completely - I'll set up a XSAS site locally, copy my site there and then I'll be able to play more seriously - keep up the great work!

Good job on joining with Smartfactory - they've got an awesome lineup of modules now and pooling talented developers can only be a good thing...

Nope, my menu is now totally empty - it had items before, but now it's just the title and nothing else - I've got items that should be appearing in the admin, just on the site itself they're empty.

Even the old-style menu doesn't show now...

Strange because the multimenu1 I've got integrated into my theme shows fine in the 'oldstyle' way...

Any ideas?

Hmm Nay joy it'd seem - Ok can I check should the arrangement shown below cause a dropdown menu to appear? I'm not 'entirely' following the category/mainlink distinction - but I think it looks right anyway?

Resized Image

So from what you're saying in your above walkthrough it should just appear? Or do I need to add a left block for a menu in my theme (I didn't need one in 1.7 anyway?)

Hey Solo,

That's cool - I'll wait to hear from your 'investigations' as I've only got a production site to test on so it's not something I can really dig into!

Hi Solo,

I've added your beta to a site - however I can't actually get any menus to appear - it all appeared to install fine and all the new options are there - I've positioned a menu topic as a 'permanent sublink' under another topic as I presume this is how you've categorised things, but nothing appears - the old menu shows fine - just the dynamic part doesn't roll down...?

I already had multimenu installed on this site - I tried the code above and it just doesn't appear - I've got it to appear in the left bat and when I add the code it disappears, so it's being called I guess - however no menu at all appears?

Any other ideas? It's funny as the previous multimenu was a breeze to install - is there anything I've missed?

Ok this module is giving me grief!

It installs fine in XOOPS 2.2.3, however when I try to add a category it screams:

ERROR: Could not query the database.
Error: Table 'cgenien_xoops2.Spfvn_booklists_cat' doesn't exist

That sounds a bit scary... does anyone know any fixes (or alternatively other book listing modules!)

Any ideas?

protx I've seen quite a few sites use...

erm...

that's all I can think of!

Don't worry - once you've finished devleoping it, THEN everyone will complain that it doesn't support one of their fourteen different payment processors!

great work Solo!

You've made my day! This is one of those features that XOOPS was laggin in - the gap is fast closing with module developers like yourself!
