Sorry folks, this may belong more in the Themes forum... but I'm a noob.

I'd like to make ONE small change to the default theme for now.. I'd like to remove the logo from the top-left corner (found that in the theme.html w/o problem) and replace it with a simple text link.. tried manually replacing the logo with a link in both the theme.html and the themeadmin.html.. no dice.

It's obvious that I'm not picking up on the structure and how this puppy is parsed by XOOPS. Can someone fire me in the right direction, please?

Many thanks.

I had the EXACT same problem.. went back and checked the directory permissions for the TEMPLATES in \modules\news\templates and \modules\news\templates\blocks. Had to change those to old 777... Works like a CHAMP now.

Sure hope that'll do it for you.. Trust me, I know the frustration.

Cheers!

Anybody else notice that the smileys don't work in the Spotlight Block?

Anybody know of a fix by chance?

OK.. 'twas a permissions issue.. no, not within XOOPS, but file permissions.

I changed the templates folder in the /modules/news directory to writable, and it worked..

OK, Folks... berate me if you wish.. did a search.. tacked on a post on another thread in a different location.. no word.

- Posted 2 news articles in the News Module.
- Can edit them w/o problems
- Can NOT display them in any way.. tried clicking on them in the admin section.. no dice. Nothing displays in the News module or Front Page.
- Checked out the article.php file and checked the function call & variables.. all look good.
- Checked all permissions.. everybody's got rights to view news articles from all topics.

I'm stumped..

Thoughts on this one?

Thank you kindly.

Thread Revival -

Sorry for the bother, folks. Just installed both XOOPS & the news module.. checked permissions for approval, submission, and viewing... made the change in the submit.php for admins to always be able to edit articles.. threw a test article in the system (can edit it).. but it won't display anywhere else.

Can someone kick me in the right direction? Many thanks.

EDIT: - Just upgraded to 1.42... no change...
