Re: messenger module

yes but none of the chat modules work with 2.2 at the moment.

Unless I'm wrong- please advise.

I tried them all about 6 weeks ago and all were faulty back then.

I am definately looking for some kind of online caht module for my users.

Re: music module porting...

ok so here is how it's done

download
Go here
http://www.radioblogclub.com/

download this file
http://www.radioblogclub.com/radio.blog.2.5.zip

Unzip it on your hard drive

upload
(optional resample mp3 files) You are supposed to be able to use a bat file to resample the audio quality and modify the extension of any mp3's that you save in the create.sound/sounds folder but to be honest I never got this to work so......

I just copied my mp3 files directly into the "radio.blog/sounds" folder, once there I just renamed them with the extension .rbs
(in otherwords delete .mp3 and replace with .rbs and save)

ftp the radio.blog folder to your website, for the sake of simplicity I uploaded mine to modules folder.

I also made up a little jpg to click on to start the audio stream(ok so it was a ripoff with minor editing fromhttp://img40.imageshack.us/img40/3325/141592613hf.jpg )

I uploaded this to the "module/radio.blog/" folder.

create website module
Click on administration Menu
Click on blocks
Click on "add new custom module"

(it can sit on the right or left as we are going to use a pop up window to play the music from - if we didn't do this each time you browsed away from the page it resets the audio)

You then add the following text to the block

<a href="#" onClick="MyWindow=window.open('http://www.XOOPSDOMAINNAME.net/modules/radio.blog/index.php?autoplay=1',
'MyWindow','toolbar=no, location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,width=220,height=320'); return false;"
>
<
img src="http://www.XOOPSDOMAINNAME.net/modules/radio.blog/dj.jpg" border="0" width="150" height="68" alt="Radio Blog" /></a>

BTW I also modified my "modules/radio.blog/config.xml from 1 to 0.....I dont want anyone else knowing what tracks I have uplaoded.
<!-- RADIO.BLOG.CLUB -->
<register value="0" />

and thats pretty much about it, you can change out the mp3 tracks by modifying the extension and uploading them as you choose.

There are a heap of other tips/tricks in this forumhttp://www.radioblogclub.com/forums/index.php

Hope this is of interest, if you add it to your site, post here so i can check it out.

Re: google?...good grief, not worth the effort

Well my first month of google adsense has clicked around, 20,000 ads delivered by google (5,000 impressions x 4 ads in a bar) and what do i get for it, yep $0.32c a whole 32c wooppeee.

lol, lets just say it took about 5 minutes before I removed google from my website, hardly worth the effort, think it would take me only 150 months before I reach my first commitment of $50.

Sorry Mr Google, I have no idea how much you were paid for displaying those 20,000 ads but I know it was more than 32c...lol no wonder you are worth $300 a share, well this little webmaster is out of here.

Dean

I got the same problem. Blanc page after clicking on the link in the first email.
Users will receive their second email with new password, however the new password doesn't work. I tried it with my own account and what happen is that my old password still works so it never changed in a new one.

the reason it is sending you to a blank page is it doesn't include thehttp://www.{domain name}

the problem has been solved here;

Re: CBB forum problem

ok this has fixed the problem in that I can now pm look at profiles etc but it's a drop down box for guests and users but not for webmasters??

I'd like to have all of the same look, where is this option controlled from and how do I change it back so they are all the same.

I noticed in the next line of code there is a reference to cookies, can I delete a cookie to revert somehow?

TIA,
Dean

Re: CBB forum problem

hi thanks for that yes the names are now highlighted but what I still cant use the drop down box.

I've tried to change from hover to click and back again but this hasn't fixed my problem.

the registered users are still able to access it no problems but webmaster still cant use the drop down box so I think it's a bigger problem than just style etc.
