and what should I use in the "Mail delivery method"
my settings are now:
FROM address: gardara@isl.is
FROM name: Garðar
Mail delivery method: PHP mail
Path to sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail
SMTP host(s): postur.isl.is
SMTPAuth username: gardara
SMTPAuth password: ********
Is this correct?? and yes, is my server right?? it has:
Operating system : Debian GNU/Linux
Perl Modules : Click to View (NOTE: this page is over 450 KB)
Perl version : v5.8.4
Perl path : /usr/bin/perl
Sendmail path : /usr/sbin/sendmail
MySQL version : 4.0.23_Debian-4
PHP version : 4.3.4
PHP Info : Click to View
Physical IP address : **.**.**.***
Mysql host : freestarthost.com
Mysql port : 3306
POP3/IMAP (incoming mail server) : mail.freestarthost.com
POP3 port : 110
IMAP port : 443

ok.. my mail settings in the "Mail setup" under the site preferences are something messed up....
What should I put in there??? any settings that are given up in phpinfo.php???
Can I use my gmail??????

Users get this error when they sign up at mmy page:
You are now registered. However, we were unable to send the activation mail to your email account due to an internal error that had occurred on our server. We are sorry for the inconvenience, please send the webmaster an email notifying him/her of the situation.
I think my server doesn´t have sendmail:( how can I check it?? or can I do something so, It won´t send mail throught sendmail??
I am running on a free host at www.aspwebserver.com and my page is on www.gardar.aspfreesever.com
Or should I move to another free host??

Hi, I am new to xoops... I have set up a XOOPS site but there is one thing that I don´t find..
On my site when user is´nt logged in, he cannot veiw anything.. The welcome page shows as blank, and it is only possible to log in and register
