I think one of the main core functions that has to be expanded/altered is the permissions system, it's now group based.

I think a permissions system on a user base with something like:

Read
Read-Write
Admin

Would give you much more flexibility.

I want to use XOOPS for different sites, but on 2 of them i have to create a guestbook, where anonymous users can only read it and not write, and other users can write if their logged in.

But it seems that XOOPS lacks the ability to give users read or read/write access. Can you only give in general access to modules, and no different access levels??
