Hey Riaan,

Is there anyway to have the module return the user to the review page they were last looking at after they submit a review? Right now it takes them back to the main reviews page and they have to find their way back to where they were.

Hi Tocpe,

I will add some code to do this, I agree it would make the process smoother. Will keep you up to date.

Currently I have been swamped at work, but I am still doing the changes at night (when I am not sleeping ) I have not had time to package the module (hopefully soon)

I've been entering a lot of movie titles that begin with the articles "the", "A", "An" etc. Could there be a way that when myReviews alphabetizes the entries it ignores certain article and places the reviews in the order established by the first letter of the first non-article letter.

For instance, "The Greatest Race" would be listed under the G's not the T's.

Hi Tocpe, sorry that I only come back to you now (very very very busy at work) I will do a quick search for a class that does just this and if it is not too big a problem I will look into incorporating it. The code as it stand is pretty stable and I know I was supposed to already have released it but I will get to it soon. I promise

Hi m0nty, It's been a hectic few weeks (work work work)

would there be a possibility of being able to choose in admin whether to show the editorial section or not? as my members aren't really needing that.. they just use the description and the review that's all. i may look thru the code and remove it if need be tho so no rush for you.

The editorial is actually a admin function come to think of it How it works is that the ability to post an editorial is only available if an administrator is logged in. So if the admin does not post a editorial it will never be available. Log onto your site with a user that is not a admin and check it out Hope this helps.

also i'd like to have an option in admin of not showing the rating bars on the index page or category page, but just show the title & description.. only want the rating bars and description to be shown when the user clicks a review to read..

This is valid, I will put it on the development list

hello,

What's the difference between overall ratings and category
ratings ?

Thanks
Stewart

By default all entries have a overall rating, but you can expand on the rating you want to do on the item by adding category ratings. Does this make sence ?

Got it fixed. I just renamed some of the functions in the WF_Sections module.

BTW, is there any way to specify how many levels of categories appear?

Not currently, what did you have in mind, maybe I can include it in the next version?

By default myReviews shows Categories available and each of those category's subcategories on the main reviews page. I would like to only show the main categories available and not their subcategories.

Am I making sense to anybody? I'm a little tired when writing this so I may not make a lot of sense right now.

The code to display the categories are standard for most modules, but I can add a feature to only display the main categories in the index page. What you could also do is to create pics for your categories and set it to not display category listings at all on the index page.

Also how do I hide/remove the homepages & Shop link stuff? I don't really need those and it might confuse my guests.

The homepages and shop links will only show their icons if they have been set.

I'm chompin' at the bit to install myReviews on my site. I just wanna make sure I understand completely before I install the beat8 and start filling it full of reviews. Cause when I turn this puppy on it's gonna be huge!

I'll be able to upgrade from Beta 8 to a final released version without having to start completely over right? Or should I wait for the RC to be safe?

What all will change/be added between Beta 8 and the Final Version?

Hi Tocpe, the reason I have been so quite of late is I have been populating data like mad on Beta8 to prove it stable to go to a RC state. I am definately not going to do all that typing again (see my site) and will create a upgrade doc with each release from here on. There is not going to be database changes from Beta8 to RC, so don't worry. Looking forward to see your reviews live. In the last 2 weeks I have not found any new or funny bugs or glitches with the RC code.

Hi Paul, there will not be any database changes in the RC, you will be able to update beta8 to the final release without problems.

yep Riaan, I created it from the viewcats.php file, but didn't use a template file.
Do you have something in mind ?

It probably was done before, due to the nature of the module - it's a "must" feature.

Copy the template of the viewcats file and use that as your starting point. Rename it make the changes, add it to xoops_version and away you go. Have fun with it.
