Checksum completed with no files missing. Re-ran the installation, and stalls at step five with no errors to indicate what is going on.
Thanks,

In the installation file there is a mention of this

define('_CHARSET', 'UTF-8'); in the global.php for specific language settings. Can this stall the install, where the step five window just refreshes once the database information is entered. I have wipe the site and re down loaded 2.3.1 and will check the file structure once the upload is completed.
Thanks,

How do you do the checksum? I thought that might be the case and have done the download for 2.3 and 2.3.1 and ran the install and each stalls at the same place.

Thanks,

Hello All,

I am in the process of installing 2.3.1 on my host. I entered the MySQL host address and the username and password continue. The installation does not go beyond this point. I thought there might be a problem with the connection and the database username and address. I went back and did a 2.0.18.2 installation which connected and installed correctly.

I am not sure why the installation stalles at this point. My host is running php4 and php5 and I had change the version and ran the installation each time with the same results.

I would like to see a sample of a mainfile which is I can just add the hostname and username and password into to see if version 2.3.1 can connect.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jas.

Did you change the permission of the cache folder to writeable?

If you did not, you will have to change the permission to the cache folder and any albums within this folder.

Try that, it might solve your problem. I find netpbm works better than imagick. Just a thought.

Hi,
I am not sure if I am correct, but I believe that you could upload the compiled files to a directory of you root and direct xoopgallery to that path.

I think that it might be worth a try.

Hope my suggestion helps.

Thanks,

Jas.

Thanks a lot for the information. The new version has corrected the problems I was having and would recommend everyone to update to this new version.

Thanks,

Jas.

I am looking for version 9.24 but the only version on netpbm I am finding is 10.18. Does it matter that the server is running freebsd and the version on the server is 10.26.5.

Thanks,

Jas

I installed XOOPS on a hosted server. The server has netpbm version 10.26.5 installed on it.

When I check the netpbm configuration, I get the following errors. I am not sure what to do to correct these errors. Is there a version on netpbm that is not supported by xoopgallery.

Thanks in advance for you help.

Jas.

Here are the results from the check netpbm script when it is run.

Make sure that the values above make sense to you.

Look for keywords like "Linux", "Windows", "FreeBSD", etc. in the output above. If both the attempts above failed, you should ask your ISP what operating system you are using. You can check via Netcraft, they can often tell you.

You told the config wizard that your NetPBM binaries live here:

/usr/local/bin

If that is not right (or if it is blank), re-run the configuration wizard and enter a location for NetPBM.
