I'm just asking, not flamming, but can you charge for xoops, meaning sell it to someone (installed)?

Xoops Hosting Forum Launched

Hey All,

In a purely self interested move, I just created a new forum called XOOPS Hosting. Now that you all have your XOOPS Sites, the next obvious step is to find a good, reliable host provider to showcase your work.

This forum is for folks to make Host recommendations, request hosting services, tell us your stories, etc....

And I say I created this forum partly out of self-interest, because hey, I need a more reliable host provider myself, so any recommendations will be much appreciated.

This thread should be made sticky, and the fix should be rolled into a patch.

I was also having the same issue. The script assumes that you are installing XOOPS in the root directory of your server, which may be the common instance, but it is a damn big assumption.

Having that dot in the path is important. I have 4 portals (2 XOOPS and 2 PHP-Nukes) and 1 YaBBSE forum I run on my server, each in their own sub-directory tied to their own sub-domain names. If each one of those were to insist on being in the root directory for install or operation, life would not be fun for me.

Is XOOPS used for business applications?

Hi, I came across XOOPS a few weeks ago and I really like the functionality and architecture. I've taken time to look at the referenced sites - had to use google translation on quite a few

But, I've not really seen too many business only sites - that I can use as reference models for a more corporate client. These clients will allow us to contribute to the XOOPS team in real $'s as well.

I see a real opportunity to use XOOPS for a Intranet / Client Internet solution but I would like to see sample sites. I also need this for proposals that I would prepare for clients. I can mock a site up but that's not really the same.

Anyone have sites to suggest ?

Anyone have screensnap shots of their internal sites if used for Intranet only that are willing to share?

Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem. I commented out line #44 $dirname = str_replace(".", "", $dirname); in xoopslists.php. It appears this line removes the "." from the relative path of ./install/language/ to the invalid path of /install/language/. I am not sure what the purpose of removing the period is this instance.

After that the install worked fine. But now I am having a problem where I only get blank pages when I try to load index.php.

Hi, I have RC3_01 installed and have no problems. Decided to install RC3_03 from a clean install and I can't get install.php to start

Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /var/www/data/xoops_v1_rc3_0_3/html/class/xoopslists.php on line 46

Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /var/www/data/xoops_v1_rc3_0_3/html/class/xoopslists.php on line 53

Searched online but don't see anything - anyone have an idea?

Thanks,
Blaine

xoopsFormValidate function is a javascript function.
It is used when the form is actually displayed.

Hello,

I am creating my module in which there is a form with scrollbar list.
The xoopsFormValidate function test an empty string with the operator == \"\".
how to do to test the backspace in the string ?
The xoopsFromValidate is defined inside class XoopsThemeForm.
An idea ?
Best regards

Tonyboy

Another thing to watch out for is if you've removed any classes from the css file that elements of XOOPS are still calling to. For instance, I removed ".bg2" in my css file because I didn't need it anymore, but the mydownloads files "viewcat.php" and "dlformat.php" were making calls to it. I simply edited those files and removed the the class='bg2' calls and never had any more problems with the tables filling in like you describe.

Best of luck solving your problem!

Currently, once a user had created an account, he could change his/her email address to anything without any verifications.

For security and spams-preventing reasons, it would be extremely useful of requiring account re-activation if a user had modified his/her email address.
