[Request ] Module for Banners management

I would like a module to manage banners by categories and/or dimensions, any suggestions?

AngeloRocha,

Xoops is good, but sometimes you need to use some external resources, especially that xoops banner system doesn't even count banner impressions right. I recommend you to use the Google publisher (http://www.google.com/intl/en/doubleclick/publishers/index.html) with all the statistics available there. I used to use it on my production website before and it's really impressive.

You can try RW_banner. I am working on conversion to XOOPS 2.5.5 Admin GUI.

Right now it still has a lot of errors.

Thanks Mamba and Deka87.
I'll test the RWBanner, but this is a suggestion to add this feature in the X260 banners ^^.

i use RW_banner in my website.
its a good module and works in 2.5.5
I can see mamba worked on it which is really good.
Also in 2.6 we will have a banner system as an extension which is really amazing.
I really like 2.6 roadmap and I think if core team could release it on time and with a little more localization features Xoops will beat other CMSs.

I've converted RW-Banner to XOOPS 2.5.5 Admin GUI.

Download: XOOPS SVN

Please report any bugs here.

Reg. the functionality in XOOPS 2.6.0, this will be up to the Core and module developers. Mage extracted the banner functionality in the current XOOPS 2.5.5 and made it as an independent module, so people could use it as is, or somebody could update RW-Banner to XOOPS 2.6.0, or merge these two modules.

Fantastic, I had tested only the first link.
Thank you.

With this separated as an extension it should be simple to update it. the beauty of having extensions is you can make new extensions that extend the capabilities without having to hack the core. This would be a good project for someone to work on... Maybe if it is simple I can do it after I finish up the installer...

What's the latest on this? I see that some significant new banner management functionality is in the works for 2.6.0. Is anyone using 2.6.0 yet? How close is it to being usable on a production site? I'm planning to integrate 3rd party banners, but don't want to get it started on my 2.5.6 install if there are going to be significant changes in 2.6.0. (Should I wait, go ahead on 2.5.6, or install 2.6.0 ?)

Cheers,

You can try to install 2.6.0 for testing, but definitely not on a production site, since it is still in Alpha phase. If you test it, please provide feedback to us

You can also test the RW-Banner module on 2.5.6. If it works properly, and there are more users of it, then we might include an import function into the banner module in 2.6.0.
