I've just updated from 2.3.3 to 2.5.1a and now I get this error:

"Fatal error: Class 'XoopsDatabaseFactory' not found in /web/htdocs/www.mywebsite.com/home/htdocs/class/database/database.php on line 123"

This happens with modules like Publisher, Marquee etc... but only when Protector is turned On and when I try to edit an element.

I also noticed that Publisher convert latin character (es. è, à, ù...) in html entities.

This is strange because with Xnews is all working.

Hope someone could help.

Cleaning and reuploading the protector folders solved the problem.

Anyway the characters problem is still there :S

I've had the same problem when I tried to set up a subcategory in TDMDownloads 1.6 on XOOPS 2.5.0.

Setting up main categories went fine, but creating sub categories failed.

Cleaning and re-uploading the protector folder, as suggested, didn't solve the problem.

So I had a look at
/class/database/database.php

at the end of the file there's the definition of "class Database". As this is declared as deprecated, I commented out the few lines for this class definition.

After this I could set up my sub categories in TDMDownload with no problems.


But with the class de-activated, the homepage was now shown as a white page. When I re-activated the class (deleted the comment marks), the homepage appeared fine again.

Afterwards I could set up sub-categories with no problem.

very strange...

So this solution seems to be helpful, but not the best

anyway i solved the accent problem.
simply edit fckconfig.js
in \class\xoopseditor\fckeditor\fckeditor

find FCKConfig.IncludeLatinEntities = true;

and set it to

FCKConfig.IncludeLatinEntities = false;
