I have a clean install of XOOPS 2.5.0 and I wanted to setup a banner. When a user clicks the banner a new tab is open, the url is something like http://www.example.com/banners.php?op=click&bid=4 and the message that is displayed is this:

_BANNERS_NO_REFERER

This message appears in Firefox 3.6.13 and Chrome 9.0.597. In Internet Explorer and Opera everything works fine.


Do you guys have any ideas about this?

Trabis made some updates. Can you check with the latest trunk?

Banners use server http referer to check if the banner request came from the current host.

Maybe something is "wrong" with your pc?

I guess there are other ways to address banner hotlinking that do not rely on client side. Use of sessions come to mind.

I have a similar issue on my system. The banner ad displays an error.
