I read a tip that explained I could change the theme based on a link, e.g.

index.php?xoops_theme_select=mytheme

I have been trying to use this with some browser detection to make mobile devices use a particular theme. The theme changes correctly on the initial redirect and works on desktop browsers, but any subsequent page changes on the phone return to the 'default' theme set in admin prefs. The target theme is set as selectable in the prefs.

I'm guessing that perhaps there's some caching that's not available on the mobile device, so I wondered is there a way to make the theme choice persist from the initial query string?

Or is there a 'theme' variable that can be set in index.php and used as a global?

A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.
