i'm trying to install it and it won't show up in the module manager.

i noticed that the .htaccess file was zipped so i unzipped it and no change.

i followed the suggestion on the download page to rename the module directory 'tadgallery' (the directory is the folder that the module files are all in???) no change.

i also downloaded a fresh copy and uploaded it. no change.

any ideas?

hi mamba.

did i mention that i don't know what i'm doing?

i finally found some reference to turning debug on. i opened phpadmin and froze in terror. the instructions didn't make sense to me b4 i opened that. i feel so intimidated by all of this. please...how do i turn on the debug?

hi burning, what do you mean? tree folder for what? i need to do something to the xoops_version.php file?

i'm sorry for being so confused. i'm fine once things make sense to me.

Go to Admin, then Preferences, then General Settings, and then set the Debug on.

You might also consider to slow down and spend some time on learning the basics.

Otherwise you'll be here every day asking questions

XOOPS is very easy to use, but you need to invest some time to learn the basics.

how else will i learn if i don't ask? i am using the search functions and reading a lot of articles and it's slowly making sense.

i don't know if my search is working right or if it's me, but i got instructions for editing some php to make the debug come on....i didn't find anything about just go to preferences.

how do u properly remove a module? the two modules in the errors below aren't on my site anymore.

This info was most probably for people who cannot access the Administration. But since you can, just follow my previous instructions.

1) You have to uninstall the module
2) once it's uninstalled, then you can delete it from your server

In case you've already deleted it without first uninstalling, copy the module files back to the host server, uninstall the module, and then delete the files

thank u mamba.

i just don't see a 'remove' or 'delete' button for removing modules in the module manager. i can deactivate them. is that what i do? deactivate them and then delete the folder from my modules?

Once you deactivate a module, the icon next to the module will change, and you'll have an option to unistall it.

Once you do it, then you can delete the folder with the module files.
