by torweb on 2010/2/2 0:53:29 I got it back...thanks for the help. Prior to this happening, I was receiving "Internal Server Errors" for all of my sites...very strange. Thank you again!!

by ghia on 2010/2/2 0:52:00 There should be only one /mainfile.php You have to set the permission to eg 777 for editing or replacing it. When finished, set it again to readonly (444). It is unclear to me how you come to know, that there is a new user and password for the database. Did your hoster tell you this? Then he probably moved or updated the server.

by torweb on 2010/2/2 0:29:03 Thank you very much for the reply! A couple of questions. 1. How many mainfile.php are there. I only found two. 2. Do I change the permissons on those files? They're set to 444 now. So if I add a new user to the database for my XOOPS site then change the user and password in the mainfile.php, I may be able to connect again? I think my host company had something to do with this Thanks again

by ghia on 2010/2/2 0:01:01 The database user and password is indeed defined in the mainfile.php You can change it by editing the file (don't forget to set the permissions).
