I apologize if this is not the correct forum to post. I am having problems on my site with members signature pictures shrinking down to a thumbnail size , smaller or vanish. It happens randomly not to everyone. Also there is another Dog web site that uses XOOPS also and I was told they are having the same problem. I believe we use different versions . I have checked my admin section and see no problems. Members can easily redo them and then its fine. I am just wondering where the problem may be and how can I fix it? Thanks so much for your time or any information . Its greatly appreciated because still this is all so new to me .

1) what XOOPS, PHP and server version do you use?

2) When you are talking about "signature" is this the avatar in the user profile as in:

https://xoops.org/user.php

3) When the picture is shrinked, is this the picture physically shrinked, or only its representation? To check it, in Firefox you can right click on the picture and click on "View Image". This will show you the real size of the image.

4) I don't know how can we test the disappearance, unless we know what "signature" are we talking about.

if you are talking about the website i just visited (http://www.labradorsonline.com) then this might not be your problem.
(its not a real link in your profile thats why i am guessing)

I checked some topics and if you really mean the pictures in your users signatures all those i looked at are hosted externally on picture services. So i would guess the problem originates there. (some services do only send thumbnails when there are too many hits on a specific picture in a defined timeframe. Also if no pictures are displayed occasionally the service might be unavailable temporarily. If you look at the sourcelink of the pictures you might be able to check a specific service when this happens so you can check if thats the reason. XOOPS itself does not touch these external linked images.

Talking about images within signatures: The poster above me has apparently got one in his signature which is against the rules on this website. (chill out )

Thanks for the input yeshttp://www.labradorsonline.com/ is my site. The new version since Jan 08 is 2.2 and the server is hostgator. What Bender has suggested as a problem in the host site for pictures makes sense. I will ask the members who signatures have been effected what host co they are using . With both sites experiencing the same problem I just thought it may be XOOPS related , Thank you for your time.
