I m about to create a website which will primarily be for students and teachers. Thus there will be two new groups named students and teachers.
I wish to modify the registration procedure in such a way that the people registering will be able to specify whether they are students or teachers and will be automatically registered as a member of the group so mentioned upon the completion of registration process.
I think it can be done through the reg codes module, but on trying i m not able to generate required codes both on the local server and webserver.
I m using XOOPS 2.0.18.1 and my local server has php 5.2.3 and the webserver has php 4.4.7
Is there any other way to do this?

I was looking at the smartprofile module, is there a way to use it in such a way that upon registration the person can choose the group he/she wants to be a member of and on completing the registration form will automatically become a member of the selected group.

Yep, i think reg codes module does that but i m not able to generate the codes after installing it

Problem solved, got reg codes module to work. Its perfect for what i need. Great module.
