What does the view permission actually do?

The access permission seems to control if the user can see the forum or not and nothing seems to change when the user is allowed or disallowed to view a forum.


and..

Is there a cbb manual anywhere, i looked on the modules's site and on xoopsdocs. could not see anything.


I am using 2.32 btw


What I would like to do is let the users access forum threads (via links from other modules) but not see the catagory they are under on the forum's index page. So i tried to allow access but dissallow view and they could see it.
