I cannot seem to find this in any of the installation documentation?

default php extensions.

GD2 is preferrable as opposed to GD1

exif is a bonus

zip support would be a bonus too (not currently needed but could come in handy in future)

register_globals is recommended to be disabled, allow_url_fopen is also recommended to be disabled.
