Hi,

I started using the news module. Creating news in the news module works. Setting permissions done. Now I wonder about the default setting in "News Display Layout" in the settings. The default value is "Classic", which shows a Drop-Down menu on the news main page where I can choose a category. But nothing else happens. I am not shown any news (and I made sure that there ARE news in the category chosen).

The only way to find my news on the main page is to set "News Display Layout" to "By topic". What is the meaning of "Classic"? Why doesn't it show me any news? Why is it the default setting?

Have you made news blocks visible via admin - blocks? You might also make sure news is set as your start page in your blocks admin.

New users should always checkout the following:
1. Documentation - linked on the left. Specifically the administration manual
2. The FAQ section - linked on the left - specifically the sections on gloassry, beginners first steps, modules, blocks and themes. There are links to visual tutorials here.
3. The search function on the top right.
