Turning off comments in news 1.50

Hi !
I made a fresh install of news 1.50 on a 2.0.16 site and turned off comments in the global setting of the news module but the "make comment" link shows up under the article.

Anybody got this problem too?

it seems you did it incorrect.
to disable comment in a module entirely:

go to General Preferences of any module(eg: news) then in "Comment Rules" set to "Disable Comments"

That's exactly what I did!

In general configuration of the news module I deactivated comments und set allowing guests to write comments to "no" but it had no effect


!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame on me !!!!!!!!

I mixed up "rating" and "comments" and deactivated the wrong feature !

Works fine now

Will read the "windows Manual" tonight to punish myself
