Hello !

I have installed MySQL database in my home directory at my university shell account. Every thing works just fine, i can log to my database withuot any problem.
Becouse i have installed it in my home directory i had to change port in my case it is 1985 .
Problem occured when i was installing xoops. In the form where i am suppoused to enter DATABASE HOSTNAME i enterd localhost:1985, 127.0.0.1:1985 etc. But non of those adjustments were correct .
Please help me !
Any sugestions ?

You would need to set the port to use in my.cnf, once it is entered there you would still use localhost to connect. A better solution would be to use sockets.

I tried to use socket path also, but without succes.
i have entered in my.cnf potr 1985 but i still have the same problem. Becouse on this host are many MySQL servers but all listen on some others ports.
Therefore eaven if i have my my.cnf configured properly there are still some problems, becouse i always have to tell XOOPS exactly where it should search my MySQL server .

Any other suggestions ?
