Hi

I am installing XOOPS and i am stuck at the stage where it says "Please choose your site admin's name and password." if i complete the field and click next the page comes back.

what shd i do?

What errors are produced? Do you get any? Try removing the cache file tables contents in phpmyadmin if nothing else works. Just search forums and it was answered a couple of days ago.

Check your firewall setting, or browser settings, probably blocking the referrer information to your form.
