I've moved my site and in doing so updated PHP & MySQL. The individual modules of the site work just fine, but when I try to assign one of the modules as the front page I get different fatal errors, depending on which module I assign as the front page. I am assuming that the difference in PHP and MySQL configurations must have something to do with this. Here are links to the PHPINFO for the two sites:

Old Site: http://www.12valve.com/phpinfo2.php
New Site: http://www.u-fli.com/phpinfo2.php

Please let me know what else I can provide that would be of assistance in troubleshooting this, my site has been limping along for a couple of weeks and I can't pinpoint where the problem is...

NOTE: 12valve and u-fli are completely unrelated sites, they both run XOOPS. 12valve just still happens to be on my old server while u-fli have migrated to the new server.

I see no errors. Could you post the error messages you get when you set the modules you are talking about?

Also which XOOPS version, modules versions?
Sorry, this signature is experiencing technical difficulties. We will return you to the sheduled signature as soon as possible ...

XOOPS 2.2.3 Final

First you may have noticed 4 menus along the left side of the screen. These are MultiMenu, if you go into another module, such as forums, they work correctly.

Excluding all the NOTICES that I get, here are the errors:

When News (version 1.44) is the front page module:Quote:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/httpd/vhosts/ufli/include/notification_functions.php on line 95

When CBB (version 2.3) is the front page module: Quote:
Could not connect to MySQL database. Notice [PHP]: Only variables should be assigned by reference in file kernel/config.php line 239

When Dictionary (version .91) is the front page module: Quote:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/httpd/vhosts/ufli/include/notification_functions.php on line 95

When Downloads (version 1.1) is the front page module: Quote:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/httpd/vhosts/ufli/include/notification_functions.php on line 95

All of these modules work fine on their own when selected from the Main Menu, it is only when trying to set them to the start page that they die...

I've done a clean full install of all of the above on the same server and everything works properly. So this means that there is some data in the DB that is causing an issue, or there is a permissions problem with a file(s) somewhere. Anyone have an idea?

OK, I actually made some progress. It appears that the real problem has something to do with my custom blocks. I removed all the custom block from the center of the page that were PHP reports from the DB, and everything is working as it should. So now I got to figure out why blocks that worked fine in the old environment are now causing problems in the new environment.
