hummm....

Apparently i did not read everything when i down loaded and installed 2.2.3 i was under the impression that 2.2.3 was stable, but that's what i get for not clearly reading the information.

I'm a new user that has been setting things up and have not had many problems that i could not work with... mainly a learning curve.

However, i am having the user registration problem.

My problems:
1) When a new user tries to register they are told Password needs at least 3 characters even though the password was 4,5 and 6 characters it would continuously give the same message.

2) If i manually add a new user it will register them and they can login, but after they login they can't see any content (blocks) on any pages and can't submit content or anything else. Always presented with the message - You do not have permission to view this area.

I have all my blocks set for all to view so i'm not sure if some of this is me or what.

any help would be appreciated...

Should i download a more stable version and what version would that be?

The site i am currently working on really does not have the need for members so these problems are not an issue. However, another site that i am starting next week is going to be completely built around members so if you have a recommended stable version that works with the standard modules - News, Articles, Forum etc. it would be very helpful.

BTW - great system even with the bugs as i'm sure they will be worked out.

2.0.13.1 is the current stable branch, and it is just that, stable. Most modules in the repository work with this version quite well, and it is very easy to use. Plus, future versions of XOOPS will be using much of the 2.0.13.1 code base at the core, so I would recommend using this version.

Hope this helps.
