Selected module does not exist!

I've recently moved to a new server and in the transition something went wrong. Some blocks showed up missing and I couldn't admin some stuff like perferences or blocks, etc. I can add news and edit links but no important stuff. So I upgraded to 2.0.13.1 and that didn't help. Everytime I try to admin something I get the "Selected module does not exist!" Anyone got any ideas? Or someone willing to get in there and look around?

Your file copy in the transfer did not work. You get that message when the module directory is contaminated or incomplete.

thanks for the reply. I went back and transfered all the folders and files again with no luck. I simply uploaded all the files in the 2.0.13.1 MODULES directory. I'm stumped.

ok, it's only those files that address modules/system/admin.php?fct=.........
But this file looks fine.

Usually this occurs during the archiving process. Sometimes files are placed in subdirectories other times when archived from a windows machine the permissions are not correct. What modules are you having a problem with?

the hosting company actually moved everything and this is what I got stuck with. It doesn't appear to be one module. It appears it is the "preference" type admin links that are affected. Example; in the admin area of LINKS I can modify, add, or delete links but I cannot click on "preferences" in that modules. Same is true with NEWS. Adding news is not a problem but "preferences" is a error message. These all seem to be linked to the SYSTEM module where nothing will work.

Thanks so much for your help.

ok this looks like a database problem now. I reinstalled everything and got the same error. I even tried installing in a new directory using the same database and still can't administor anything. It appears also that the hosting company upgrades the MySQL and PHP5. I asked them to downgrade back to php4 but I'll still inquiring about the sql upgrade. could this make a module problem?
