Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that we have new plans (WebDev Plans) that include:

PHP4 4.3.11 (.php)
PHP5 5.0.4 (.php5)
MySQL (4.1)
PostgreSQL (7.4.8)
Ruby 1.8.2
Ruby on Rails 0.13.0
FastCGI 2.4.2
Perl 5.8.5
Mod_Resin 3.0.9 (.jsp)
Mod_Mono 0.3.7 (.aspx)
Django
Subversion/CVS

These plans are on special servers with very few accounts for ultimate performance.

It should be fun for all, and of course very useful. :)

Hi Kayla
Thanks for the info.
How does php4 and 5 work? Do we initially have to choose which one we want or does each account have access to both?

PHP4 is default (.php) but you can use PHP5 by using the .php5 extension.

How does Surpass Hosting deal with the server load that I see can be a problem at times. Do you have many XOOPS users?

Thanks

As websites become more dynamic, load will always be an issue. We just have to deal problems as they come. Not all sites can stay in a shared environment forever. Some cannot even stay for 2 days. We do actively monitor our servers for slowdowns and narrow down the cause.

We do have many XOOPS users, though I really have to credit it partly to the fact that we use Fantastico (http://www.netenberg.com/fantastico_scripts.php).
It introduces many to XOOPS that may have never known of it, and they begin to love XOOPS.
