As websites become more dynamic, load will always be an issue. We just have to deal problems as they come. Not all sites can stay in a shared environment forever. Some cannot even stay for 2 days.
We do actively monitor our servers for slowdowns and narrow down the cause.
We do have many XOOPS users, though I really have to credit it partly to the fact that we use Fantastico (
http://www.netenberg.com/fantastico_scripts.php).
It introduces many to XOOPS that may have never known of it, and they begin to love XOOPS.
