Ok, i have XOOPS installed in my computer. Thats the only thing I have, so if theres something else I need to download Im not sure... My site runs off of freewebs, i just use their free account. What I was wondering was... what files from XOOPS should I upload to my freewebs account? Earlier i was looking through XOOPS tutorials and i happened to come accross a thing that said i needed to install XOOPS to the site. It told me to upload a file called "index.php" then put it in a folder named "install". Once i had that done, it said to goto the page.. (http://www.yourdomain.com/install/index.php) Once i got there it was supposed to goto a page on the XOOPS website for some kind of installation. Well, that didnt happen, all i got was a box that popped up and asked if i wanted to download my file "index.php". So this is basically where im at now... If i am missing some critical information, please notify me, thanks.

freewebs doesn't have php, MySQL so you can't run a dynamic site like Xoops.

Unfortunately you will need a host that will provide both PHP and MySQL (a database) to use Xoops.

The best thing first of all is to perhaps do a test run on your own computer, so you can experiment with using it... I use a program called XAMPP for this - which emulates a sever on your own machine. You can download this at http://www.apachefriends.org

If you get the hang of XOOPS using this - move to a better service provider which will give you access to a databse and php to allow XOOPS to run.
