I have a small project in the works. Ok, not really small. Crossing over 4 or 5 domains and many sub domains for starters. Many sub sites all linked into a master site.

I am building (and/or getting built for me) several modules for the features I want (no details here, the site is still in development stages).

One thing I am curious about is if it is possible. Linking the users from a Live Journal powered site (my own site using the LJ code) and XOOPS data. Say, a user names bhazeltn signs up on my main site, as well as setting up the XOOPS account, an account on the Live Journal site is created with the same info.

Passing sessions back and forth isn't needed, since that would probably be a hugely insane nasty hack (who knows, might not be). Integration of the LJ site into the XOOPS CMS itself isn't needed (will be a stand alone site with shared user data.

I want to use the LJ code base for a few reasons, the features it allows is just one. I'd rather use it over other blogging solutions out there.

The other crazyness I thought I'd just stick in here for the heck of it.
I'm about 99.99% sure there is no possible way for this to work without some major work.
I plan on partnering with a large number of message board sites. Not because I won't be offering my own forum setup as part of the site, but because most of my userbase will already be using these message boards (forums will be a very small portion of my project). What would be kind of neat is a sync of all the message boards users into my database, giving all their users accounts on my site. That part would be somewhat easy I expect, if the admins would do it (importing the users table). The probably impossible part is this:
when a user logs into their "home" message board or my site, they can go between the pair without logging in again.

I know this is possible when you integrate a forum into XOOPS on the same server, but I am thinking it isn't possible in any other way. (Would be kind of kick ass though!)

Anywho, sorry bout the length and rambling. I have a massive plan and am a wee bit excited (I will release details shortly, I expect)
