Hi,

I performed a fresh install of XOOPS 2.2 (with hotfix) and have run into a bug where I cannot access the "user groups" section of the admin section.

Manually typing the URL (*siteurl* and *xoopsurl* are my site and XOOPS relative path respectively).

http://*siteurl*/*xoopsroot*/modules/system/admin.php?fct=groups

Gives me the error:

"The requested URL /*xoopsroot*/modules/system/admin.php was not found on this server."

The other admin sections seem to be working fine, but I need to get access to this section in a hurry. I believe that the problem lies in the link matrix in the file menu.php.

Can someone give this a try on their system and see if they can validate this is a bug? I tried installing a fresh install of 2.0.13 and saw the same problem on that version too. I also tried working on the problem but could not figure out the menu.php link matrix...

Does anyone have any cluse/fixes or workarounds for this?

thanks

Mark

I just installed a fresh install of 2.2.1 and have the same problem with this one section of the admin module.

I'll log this as a bug...

I can't duplicate this problem on 2.2. That URL takes me to the groups management page, provided that I'm logged in.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for taking a look at this for me.

I saw the problem in 2.2, 2.0.13 as well so I wonder if the problem is if you start from a fresh database install... In my case, I have created new tables each time I have installed XOOPS (e.g my table prefix is xoops221 for this new release).

The rest of XOOPS is working fine in the testing so far, we'll know more in a few hours. This is the only problem and it's a big one for us....

Could the problem be specific to a clean install on a clean database (new set of tables?)

thanks

Mark

Dave,

I should also have said that I am logged in as the admin user (the only user that exists so far) when attempting to do this. I tried creating another user in 2.2 just-in-case and saw the exact same behavior.

Is there an alternate direct URL that I could use to try and get access to the groups management page?

I did try (in 2.2) just to copy over the "groups" files into the "banners" files and was at least able to display something that looked like group management when I selected the admin | system | banners section. This wasn't a workable solution but indicated that this might be a problem with the main.php link matrix (I couldn't figure out the problem though).

If there's anything I can do to test further, let me know. There's nothing generated when I turn on debugging...

Mark
