I'm in charge of evaluating software, designing and creating a corporate portal for a Spanish multinational company. XOOPS is one of the two finalists from the 15 different portals I preselected and evaluated. Great job!

I wanted to know how hard do the XOOPS gurus think it would be to adapt it to use an Oracle database. (I don't need to use an existing database; I need the protal to rely on Oracle.) Did anybody ever try to do this? Are there important issues that would make this specially difficult?

Depends mainly on how compatible the MySQL and Oracle SQL syntax are.

But it will also require some additional programming as we don't have an Oracle database class, yet
