Different Blocks in Different Modules?

I can't figure out how to have different block views across different modules. For example:

In 'News' have blocks on the left and right, and then in 'Forums' only have blocks on the left, but none on the right, or even no blocks at all besides the center 'Forums' module block. Is this possible?

I've tried in block administration, but it seems all the changes I make have a global effect, despite what my 'shows blocks visible in' selection is.

In Blocks admin, click on EDIT to the right of the block, then you should see a Visible In field. Choose the pages you want the block visible in.

Yep, that's just what I was looking for. Thank you!!

After going through the list of portals available and installing them on my server and demoing them for a day or two each, it seems that XOOPS is probably the best all around package to fit my needs.

Great piece of software.
