Getting rid of "reads" in News Module

How so I remove the "reads" display in news module 1.2?

Oh, and while I'm at it: is there any way of having alternating background colors in news columns? or colors at all?

On the same topic, I've just installed xld feed module and I like it find. But how do I add background colors to the box?

1) You'll have to edit the template for that particular form. But you'll have to clone the template set first - see the FAQ for how to do this.
2 & 3) Can be changed by editing the CSS file for whatever theme you're using.

Please don't post the same questions in different forums. You won't get the answers any quicker.
