I was looking at my NewBB2 install with the RPG type stats (hit points, magic pooints, level) and got a idea. I am not much of a modern scripter/programmer so I post this idea to those who know more then I to get a sense of its feasability.

Back in the day when being 'online' ment calling a local BBS on your 28.8k modem, many BBS's had what were called 'Door' games. Similar to how modules work with xoops. They were generally 3rd party apps you could plug into your BBS to allow those who logged in to play ANSI/text games.

I was a co-writer for a BBS back then and helped develop a medieval D&Dish type game for the BBS. I was thinking of what would be entailed to take the members RPG forum stats, and plug them into a simple D&Dish game?

For exmaple if you have 17hp, 9 mp and lvl 3 on the forums, thats what your stats would be ingame.

The game would be fairly simple, you fight random monsters/other players in a arena/dungeon for money or karma. Where as you can use said money to buy better equipment to fight with or karma to build up your karma rating on the forums.

None the less thats my idea in a nutshell, if those with some PHP background could give their 2 cents to this idea I'd appreciate it.
