Right,

My first 2 questions:

* my web host provides me with a 20 MB MySQL DB. Is that enough for setting up the whole thing and for maintaining it afterwards?

* does XOOPS allow you to add HTML code manually?

1 yes it is egnoug for xoopsbut not many files

2 yes sorta you can edit te templates of stuff

Actually that should be plenty of room for the DB.

As for files as mentioned in the post above, most modules either keep files in files not DB. Those that do offer DB storage for files will likely have the choice of file or DB.

Choose file. Better performance.
