istats / Web Stats 2.1 displays wrong time

I have installed istats (a great module!) however, on the main page the current time is wrong.
The date is correct but the time is not (it says 6:20am but its 8:33pm)
I have set the server timezone in general preferences to match my hosts web server (-5.00) and the default timezone to Japan time (+9.00) where I'm located.
How can I get the time to display correctly?

any help appreciated.

Does anybody know how to fix this? I'm having the same problem right now.

I saw a post by the author, he knows of the problem and is working to fix it for the next release.

I've had a some correspondence with the author. He says that IStats uses the server timezone to enter data into the database via functions in the counter.php file.
I think, if there's a way to offset the time with the default XOOPS timezone as it's entered into the database, the problem would be solved.
I had a look at the XOOPS API docs and there is a UserTimeToServerTime() function available (but not a ServerTimeToUserTime() function! maybe it could be used to convert the time before input to the database.
In the meantime, I'm using Istats, but stats based on my timezone would be more meaningful to me. I await future developments.
