When you go to a link in SmartFAQ which has this format it seems to be broken:

/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=10

instead of displaying the Q&A is reloads the index page and the URL is redirected to:

/modules/smartfaq/?faqid=10

I upgraded to current cvs but this did not fix the problem.

Not sure if this is really a bug, or if it is related to your site specificly.

I think this is more of an permission settings issue.

I have SmartFAQ installed, and never encountered this kind of problem.

to

http://www.postdoc.ucla.edu/modules/smartfaq/?faqid=59

Never the less, I can't replicate this problem on my site!

Very strange indeed, but read on for the solution...

I just installed SmartFAQ on my other server and all is ok.
I removed xoopsfaq.
I removed the CVS version completely and deleted the dir
I checked the database had no smartfaq entries
I installed 1.02 version.
I now can't add any Q&As.
I added the SQL from a test site that works.
The actual site still doesn't work despite identical SQL and files!
I updated again to check - still broken.
Both sites are virtual hosts on the same machine.
I pulled out all my hair.

Then I had a flash of inspiration!!!
I remembered that I had put a .htaccess redirect from /faq to /modules/smartfaq!!!!
I removed this line - it worked.

2 hours of pain for 2 lines of code - what an idiot.
