Well I've downlowned plenty of wonderful themes at this site. However, I don't know where to set the option where users can set there own theme perference. Is there a way I can turn this feature on? and where would the user go to change this setting?

You can turn on a block in the admin panel by going to System -> Blocks, and then find the block called Themes. You need to make that block visible.

Hi there,

I already tried the solution and it worked fine....
...until the user logged in the next time. The theme was the good-old default one when users returned bach to the page.

I'm using the Auto-Login hack on the recent XOOPS and I already tried to change the themes manually in the database (as it doesn't seem to change the value within the db...strange), but no effect.

Now...where's the error?

Hi,
You need to go into the admin menu, system menu, preferences, general settings. There is a dropdown box where you set the default theme for the site. Whichever theme you choose here is the one the users will see every time they come to your site. Further down the settings page there is a box with selectable themes. You need to highlight the themes you wish your visitors to be able to choose in this box. Multiple themes with ctrl. Once you have done this then go back to system menu, blocks and make the theme block visible for whichever users you want to be able to choose. Hope this helps.

There is a module out, XT-Temas, that you can have save the theme for each user.

no, it doesn't have any options as such, you just make the XT Temas block visible instead of the standard themes block. The XT Temas block has a "use this theme always" checkbox which remembers the user's choice. You do have to be logged in though.
