Thats it i give up i applied on xoops.dev to set up the project and got accepted.

Basicaly i have translated the opencontent module from italian

opencontent.zip Now with english translationQuote:
A yellow-page like business directory for XOOPS using
the mylinks module as the foundation. Adding the ability to show the resulting links in a frame

It still need some work on the translation and the drop down menu and other odd bits arnt traslated yet like titles ect

yet i have spent the last 6 hours going through manuals on CVS and i still havent got any where

So i have posted it up on my site as i can mange ftp

i cant upload the folder unless i use CVS

so could someone who knows what they are doing with CVS upload it

I am sorry i didnt really want to do loads of reading on how to submit to dev.xoops as i am not really a programer

I speak spanish and bits of italian and french so i dont mind helping translate odd modules

yet i think i have gone over my head with applying on xoops.dev as it has baffled me

Please help

Re: Help with adding OPENCONTENT module to dev.xoop

Maybe read your PM's on dev.xoops.org?

I told you that dev.xoops.org is a place for development of modules and not a repository for finished modules.

If you are done with the module, we have a Modules Repository on this site.

CVS is something you apply for, as described in the Dev Wiki

Its not finished it was relased once on XOOPS yet only with italian translation

So i translated it

There is parts that need reprograming so that they can be multi lingual

yet i dont have a clue

I had read what you PM me

yet the drop down menus in the module at present are in italian

I will have a look at the CVS docs as i dont like not knowing how to do things

yet any help would be appreciated

you don't need CVS access if your module is completed. go into the Files section of your project, click on Edit/Add Releases, create a new release and add the file (you can tell it the url of your file, or upload your file, it's best to provide a .zip and .tgz if possible)

ahh, so it's still in progress. the CVS wiki seems pretty clear to me, what part are you not grasping? also, if you search the dev.xoops forums (search for 'cvs' and enter my username into the author criteria box, to limit to my results), i posted a screenshot of what Tortoise should look like, properly configured.

Ok i manged to upload it as zip file to xoops.dev as a new release

still cant figure out cvs and at present i really dont need to spend ages figuring it out

Tell the truth i wish i had never set up the project

It is well to complicated for me

All the bells and whistles are good if you are a programer

Or if you know what your doing yet i am still learning

I just thought it would be a better idea to stick it on there for others who are more exsperinced then me to finnish it off

Is there any way of making it an adoptable project As i real am baffled by it all

Also is there any way if i find half finnished suitable projects to be able to add them

The reason being so we dont end up with broken module being released

It would make XOOPS amazing if you could

That way people could do bits and then before things get released they go through the xoops.dev (Polishing Factory)

So that we dont end up like phpnuke with tons of broken modules or half finished ones

Re: Help with adding OPENCONTENT module to dev.xoop

I would suggest that you advertise here and/or on your local support XOOPS site (for easier communication if your English is not that strong) explaining what the module CAN do and what you would LIKE it to be able to do - and ask if there are anybody willing to pick it up.

Once someone takes on the module as a new project, it can be added to dev.xoops.org

You are right about the PHP-Nuke comparison, we don't want the Module Repository to be full of unfinished modules. The Module Repository is mainly for full, stable module releases
