hi,

Curious to know whats the impact of rewritemod on the google rankings??

I am using rewrite mod in .htacess
as i have intslled XOOPS in /html/xoops folder
and want too browse it from http://www.mysite.com/ instead of http://www.mysite.com/html/xoops

thus after the rewrite module its been showing http://www.mysite.com/index.php while on backhand its actually http://www.mystie.com/html/xoops/index.php

now i am worried if this could be a reason behind for not getting listed on google search engine. Site is up from 3 months and googlebot has visted almost 6-10 times as per logs. But still dont see any listing in XOOPS :(

Can someone throw some light in this regard.

I'm not sure if the Rewrite affects the google stats but have you searched for your site with the site: option to be sure it isn't there?

The better solution is to move your site down a directory so it is in the actual root where it belongs and not need rewrite for doing it. Or if you have access to the server config just change the DocumentRoot directive.

No i dont have access to webserver as root, i am on shared hosting. And i dont think using ./htaccess i can change the document root anyway.

Other than that site:mysite.com also doesnt give me any result :( Thus looks like google doesnt know my site at all :(
