I want the change the color of my forum. all columns have the same color but I want one in one color and the second in the other color. what in the css file have I to change to do this?

classes
head, odd, even, th, comTitle, others

control the forum appearance

To find out exactly what is controlling what
On the top menu bar of your browser
View->Page Source(Mozilla) or Source(IE)

Scroll down find the IDs or classes and make changes accordingly.

Be ware, changes you made might apply to whole XOOPS system.

tl is right, changes here will effect all templates that use the above classes, however there is nothing stopping you from further customizing by adding new classes for the forum only.
