I was searching for modules online, and came across this E-XOOPS? Is this the same as XOOPS? and can I use the modules on the page?

e-xoops or RUNCMS is an old XOOPS 1.3 version. XOOPS 2.x uses smarty templates while 1.3 does not. It would require major porting from 1.3 to 2.x version.

That is a misunderstanding

e-xoops/runcms is NOT old and backwards - they just broke off from an earlier version of XOOPS and went from there. I'm sure they have continued to develop on the system since then.

Just like XOOPS is a fork from an older version of PostNuke doesn't mean that XOOPS is backwards compared to PostNuke
