Another philosophic question....

I would my users uploads stuff to my site, leaving a description.
I woult use my disk space to store it
and avoid to collect links (to be mantained).
I dont know if this is possible with donloads and similar clones and modified modules.
Maybe i don't understood something in their usage?

Notice i'm hosting on a Mac ,osx10.3,also tried to apply
Invision File Manager,and others unsuccessfully.

Thanks !

Danny

mydownloads (Module) allows submissions of files already accessible via http:// links. You can see the module in action on my sites (below). The Dowbnloads can be controlled by you via an approval authorization cycle.

Thanks for reply

So to do what i need, i have to let my users UPLOAD with some other tool on http://mysite.org/uploads...

then hope they go to "dowloads: and fill the form,
linking their files to my site url...

..theres'a a better way to do this catalogizing directly file descriptions?
Maybe another module ?..
Thanks again

Danny

Catzwolf has done a lot with the Downloads module, among other things allowing uploading directly in the module - it is just in Beta right now, but worth checking out (there's a very recent post about it, by Catzwolf)

I downloaded my downloads and installed, seems more complex and complete,
i setted ALL under permissions-->Category Permissions
so all can view..right?

I see the only way to add a Download is From a webmaster accessing the XOOPS control panel-->dowloads-->create download.

In all other cases the final user seems dont watch any UPLOAD file option on his submission form..

Sorry if seems tedious, maybe i miss something important
Thanks again

Danny

Thanks
