To day I did some updating on my site and desided to add the Partner Module that came with xoops. I did that add a partner but noticed that it resized the mini banner i put up. So hunted around and found the xoopspartners_block_site.html file and modified it so it would center the banners and not resize it. Upladed it back the the directory and updated the module.

To muy suprise after pressing the update module i went to my home page and i got a blank page. I know that XOOPS is working becasue it goes from the origial site http://www.umm-brigade.com directly to the news module http://www.umm-brigade.com/modules/news/ but instead of the new page i get a black page.

Im freaking out and dont know what to do. I tryed getting back to the admin page by typing in /modules/admin.php but it says i dont have permission and sends me back to my main page which is my news page which is now a black page. PLZ HELP ME! I have no idea that doing that would screw up the site so much.

this is the error im getting:

Fatal error: Smarty: [in db:xoopspartners_block_site.html line 38]: syntax error: unrecognized tag: $xoops_url}?PHPSESSID=deleted>/modules/xoopspartners/vpartner.php?id=<{$partner.id (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 382) in /hsphere/local/home/markoto/umm-brigade.pixel-based.com/class/smarty/Smarty_Compiler.class.php on line 1824

I changed the module back to the way it was... before i messed with it but i still recive this error. s there a way to update the module without being on the admin page. Im not sure what i should do next.

OK so.. this is what i have tried.

1. Went to the template_c files to fine the page that it says has the error. Well I found it and chaged it to what i thought it shoudl be but had no luck... so i chaged it back.

2. Tried to go to http://www.umm-brigade.pixel-based.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=groups to access the admin page and uninstall the module but i keep getting "Sorry, you don't have the permission to access this area" I think it is because I erased my history and cookies so now it wont let me in. I was wondering if there was another way to get to the admin page?

3. Read the forums like crazy and cam accross this thread: https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=17098&forum=20#forumpost72043 It mostly talked about uninstalling a module but I think it is a bit risky and am not sure If im to this point yet. Or if even that will resolve the problem

4. Went to phpMYAdmin and searched around. Found the xoops_modules table and decided to do a little tinkering. Saw a colume called "isactive" and a "1" in the row that xoopspartners was in... so I guess that it meant that the module was active and that i could deactivate it by putting a "0" in its place. Well this didnt seem to do anything as i still got the Fatal Error message.

5. Banged my Head up against the wall for changing code i had no bussiness too and really had no idea what it would do.

So.... this is what im going to do next.

6. Go to sleep before i decide to hang myself by my mouse cord... hmm that wouldnt work becasue i have a wireless mouse..

Ok... time for bedy bye.
Hope one of u XOOPS EXPERTS can help me out there. I know I'll still be dealing with this thing tomarrow.

Ha Ha... IM SO HAPPY. I think I got it. Here is what I did. I could login to admin.php because for some reason i didnt have the cookie saved so. Since i remembered that I only put the module on the start page. I went typed in the URL to another page like.... modules/contact/ and it worked the site looked great. So i login went to the admin page and got rid of the module.

Im so smart....

Thx for your help... I guess all i need was a little push to find out what to do.

Want to see my site. http://www.umm-brigade.com
