Table Headers are all black

In modifying a template that I cloned (and perhaps in the original template as well) for tables in the left and right colums, the table headers are totally black. But in the center columns, they show up properly. I tried modifying the th tag in the style.css file of my theme, but it had no effect on it (and yes, I changed the option in Preferences that lets me have immediate changes in my site). Where do I look next?

hey xantius,

check your css "outer" most likely has a black background (000000).

Awesome. That was just what I was looking for. Obviously I don't understand CSS very well, because I don't quite understand what .outer had to do with making the table header's black. Thank you for your help though. I'm glad it works.

Also, there is a #leftcolumn.th, #centercolumn.th and #righcolumn.th tag to make it possible to have different tables depending on whether they are positioned in the right, left or center column.
