Re: e-xoops to xoops2

What do you have in e-xoops? I mean forums and other modules? How much information do you need to move?

I have tried going from e-xoops 1.3 to xoops2 with few problems - but I first copied the database from e-xoops to the same database as xoops2. Then I made little script, which took the information from the e-xoops tables and put it in the xoops2 tables - most fields were the same, with some minor differences.

e-xoops is a XOOPS fork that doesn't have any templating system. The differences are big enough that YourHelps suggested method will most likely not succeed. What you can try is installing XOOPS 1.3.x, the differences between that and e-xoops are smaller. Then upgrade the XOOPS 1.3.x site to XOOPS 2.

Have you tried uploading and installing the new xoops. Then uploading the e-xoops tables one at a time into your newly created database? i don't know how close related e-xoops and XOOPS but with a bit of editing you should be able to do that ask a couple of the dev's if there will be conflict with the database.
