I could access the file Iinfo.php giving me lots of information about the server configuration, etc) even with the .htaccess file uploaded though i could not access any of teh images within uploads folder or even the main web site. I get the error message: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. |

| by ghia on 2009/1/15 0:36:38 It is possible that you may not override it or that a module behave badly when it is off. Make a file called eg info.php containing this code: and place it in your XOOPS directory. When you run it, it will give you the status for 'AllowOverride'. When you are done, delete it! Can you run this program when your .htaccess is in place? Can you get an image file of XOOPS (eg /uploads/smil42e7a3d4c7b9f.gif) when your .htaccess is in place? |

| by cabdi_uk on 2009/1/14 23:56:59 I have copied this (php_flag register_globals off ) onto a notepad and saved it as .htaccess. I uploaded the file onto my htdocs\ folder as this is my only directory and again got the same error message. Thanks for your efforts - I will appreciate if you can help. |
