| by stefan88 on 2007/9/24 19:21:38 I'm not using forums much. Only one old newbb1.01, so can't speak from own experience. CBB4 still has no stable release, so it is not recomended! The general advice would be to use CBB3 (3.08 is latest stable version, also needs frameworks and optional editors package). This would be the most secure choise thinking about future development. It was developed by phppp - a curent core team member and is has active development - CBB4. There should be way to upgrade. However if I need something liter, I may go with newbbex. | by anemic on 2007/9/24 19:10:16 Would you recommend cbb4 or newbbex? Forums are such a critical aspect of a XOOPS community and I'm confused each time I look for docs or information. I've been happy with newbb but I'm looking now for the larger user base..I think it's harder for a large user base to die out. Are there cloning docs for one of these? |

| by stefan88 on 2007/9/24 18:57:42 Hi, the newbb had a newbb2 version for a while (or newbbpro) but it went dead and was reborn as cbb = newbb3. Now there is cbb4 beta version. I think it home is xoopsforge.com There are some forks from GiJoe (also dead) and herve - (newbbex) :) |

I've found a couple of support forums without recent posts. Is newbb dead and reborn in a new cbb? Where's the best place for support? tia, anemic |
