This is an old article, so there may be a newer version, but this content module has a permissions system that will do what you need. Read about it here:

I should be more specific. My main concern is finding something that has the capabilities of allowing permissions. The training area is just going to be static text. I'm not needing e-learning or exam type software.

Thanks,
Jeremy

This might work; I think it's still in beta: https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=3706

There is also a module called Moodle for XOOPS. I have a copy of it, but have never used it or seen it at work. Let me know if you want to try it.

I believe there is also a module called OBS Classroom - not too sure. You may want to google it and see if it's available.

Recommendations for software what I need please
by jitgos on 2007/4/18 4:02:17

Hi, I've installed Drupal and tested XOOPS a bit, but I think there must be something simpler available for what I want.

All I want to do is create a hand full of static pages which I can create myself without a problem. The software would need to allow for users to create accounts and then I would need to be able to give permissions per user or add a user to a group that gives them access on which of those pages they were allowed to see.

It's a training website. So, for instance, when someone creates an account they would have access to the training number 1 page. Once I know they have completed that training I would go in and give them access to training number 2, etc.

Maybe this is easy to do with XOOPS, but I couldn't easily figure out how to do it. I thought there's probably some scaled down, simple software that someone could recommend or point me in the right direction to do it in XOOPS. I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Jeremy
