(1) can members of the site post articles?

(2) can members to the site add comments to articles?

Yes, they can. You can set if the new submit needs approval or not.

mmmm ... big problem

I installed articles and everytime I try to submit a test article internet explorer crashes!!

Not too happy ... any idea whats wrong?

I can't find where to set so that members can publish without me having to ok the articles.

I just want the articles to publish - i dont want to ok every submission as we have over 23,000 members to our various sites and I am merging them all
